Preparing your tech data room: checklist
A practical checklist of technology evidence buyers expect in the data room—and how to organise it for vendor due diligence.
A technology data room is not a dump of every diagram ever drawn. Group evidence so a buyer can follow the story in hours, not days.
Architecture & delivery
- Current architecture overview and key integration map
- Engineering org chart and contractor usage
- SDLC, release cadence, incident stats (12–24 months)
- Technical debt register or equivalent prioritisation
Security & compliance
- Policies, pen test summaries, vulnerability management
- Identity/access model for production
- Data classification and retention
Commercial technology
- Major supplier contracts and renewal dates
- Cloud accounts, reserved spend, and cost trends
- OSS inventory or SBOM where available
Product & AI
- Roadmap assumptions tied to capacity
- AI/LLM model usage, data flows, and vendor dependencies
