Washington Baltic did not start as an M&A advisory. It grew out of two decades of building technology, leading teams, and sitting inside the deals that shape how businesses are valued.

Technical consultancy
Founded as a small technical consultancy, supporting software development and consultant CTO services for businesses that needed senior technology leadership without building a full in-house team.

VC & PE technology leadership
Worked with venture- and private-equity-backed technology businesses as CTO and technical consultant, building products, scaling engineering teams, and shaping technology strategy for growth-stage companies.

International due diligence
Spent around five years with an international technical due diligence provider, leading engagements across buy-side and sell-side for a wide range of private equity and institutional clients.

Sell-side practice leadership
Spent around a year leading a sell-side practice for a European due diligence consultancy, getting companies ready for exit and supporting them through the journey.

Washington Baltic
Relaunched the business as a boutique M&A consultancy to help companies directly, and offer a service that does not require the markup typical consultancies charge, the kind that gates these services to businesses with significant backing already.
Vendor due diligence and technology assessments have traditionally been reserved for PE-backed businesses and large corporate exits. We think that is the wrong dividing line. A reduced valuation matters just as much to a founder or a retiring owner. Washington Baltic is senior-led, direct, and built to give you the same quality of insight without the layers.
Our founder
Michael Peacock
Michael Peacock is an experienced technology leader with more than five years in technology M&A. He is a hands-on practitioner, not a career generalist who delegates the work to juniors. Every Washington Baltic engagement is led by him directly.
Education & certifications
Software engineering degree from the University of Durham. CISSP certified. AWS, Azure, Oracle and HashiCorp certified.
Published author & speaker
Author of a range of published technical books. Speaker at international conferences on technology, architecture and product development.
Founder & CTO experience
Founder of a SaaS EdTech solution. Served as CTO for a social media marketing product through its acquisition. Interim CTO for a pharmaceutical distributor.
Deal experience
Provided carve-out support for a regulated take-private. Led technology due diligence across buy-side and sell-side for private equity and institutional clients.
